Fly of the Month (January)

This month’s fly is called the Sparkle Crab. Don’t be fooled, very different from its cousin the Sparkle Shrimp. This is tied more compact but heavier and more bulky which means a redfish rooting around can not only see it but feel it. I came up with this pattern after fishing Louisiana for reds and they just did not feel the Sparkle Shrimp in the muddy water. This one made them come a swimming.
